Western Reopening Plan Update 7.18.20

School Reopening Update

July 18, 2020

To All,

Since the release of our reopening document on July 9, 2020, we have received valuable feedback and questions from our parents and staff, and have made some revisions to our reopening plan as a result.  Since that date, there have also been updates from the Governor, now slowing the reopening of Indiana as COVID-19 cases are back on the rise.

Attached to this email is our revised reopening plan.  Changes to the plan are in red.  Additional information on the remote learning, along with expanded learning options are included, which should be beneficial as we continue student registration for the 2020-2021 school year.  Also included in the updated plan is the time requirements/expectations from the Indiana Department of Education for remote learning.  In addition to this updated document, we will be making available the Question and Answer document on Monday, July 20th, which will provide answers to the many specific questions that were asked.

As we look to the 2020-2021 school year, we are continually looking at how we can provide our students with the best educational opportunities possible, while providing a safe learning environment for all of our students and staff.  As we continue to monitor the situation, gain more information, and approach August 12th, the first day of school, we will keep you updated of any additional changes that will need to be made.

 REOPENING PLAN DOCUMENT UPDATE

Sincerely,

Randy McCracken
