Indy 500 Concessions

Enjoy a fun-filled day at the track and, maybe, catch a glimps of the race. (Acturally, the fans are just as entertaining.) We need both parent and student volunteers on Sunday, May 27th to help with Indianapolis 500 concessions. We will depart between 3:30 and 4:30 AM!!! Don't pass up this opportunity to watch the sun rise over the most famous speedway in the world. The sign up sheet in band room or contact Vanessa Scott for more info 860-1201.
Wings and Wheels is Saturday, June 9

The band is operating concessions for "Wings and Wheels" from 8 to 4 at the Kokomo Airport. We are needing both parent and student volunteers to work 2 1/2 hour shifts preparing and serving breakfast and lunch. Sign up sheet is in band room or contact Vanessa Scott for more info 860-1201. We are also asking that each family to be responsible for selling 5 advance food tickets at $5 ea. The tickets will be available at the Spring Concert and Band Awards night. You may also choose to pay $25 as a Buy Out option. Checks are payable to "Wings and Wheels." Please print off the attached poster and find places to display it. Thanks Wings and Wheels Poster
HS Band earns GOLD rating at ISSMA Concert Band Contest

The Western Concert Band earned a Gold rating from all four judges including sightreading at the ISSMA State Qualifications contest.
The band performed at 10:30 AM on April 28 at Pike HS in Indianapolis. They performed "Ghost Train" and "October" by Eric Whitacre and "Redetsky March" by Strauss.
Band members may listen to adjudication comments found on the band locker site.
The Western Band Boosters now seeking sponsorships for 2012 season

The Western Band Boosters are seeking sponsors for the Panther Band and Guard’s 2012 competition season.
Sponsorships can be in the form of financial or service donations. For example, a local business may make a financial donation to the Band Boosters, while another business may donate lunch for a competition day.
Donations of goods or services will receive a monetary value statement for the donation.
Sponsors can name a student or students to receive credit for a financial sponsorship. With that, the named student will have 10% of the donation placed in his or her student band account. Students may use their band accounts to pay fall fees or finance future performance trips.
Families may also be sponsors.
There are benefits of sponsorships at certain levels. For sponsors of $500 and above, a business or organization logo will be applied to a band trailer. See list for details.
